What's your scent?

Who knew that picking out a new perfume could be so complicated.  I can't even tell you the last time I bought perfume.  Ummmm,  maybe like over 5 years ago.  Smells right now consist of, well let's not go there, we will just say "kids" for now.  So this Christmas, I decided to buy perfume with my money.  Let's just say I was quickly overwhelmed and frustrated, and left with nothing.  Well, except for some little pieces of paper that all contained different names and squirts of spray on them.

As I walked into the store the gal was very friendly and seemed very eager to help, but then I was asked...Are you a Sweet,
                               Fruity,
                                 Clean,
                                    Floral,
                                      Citrus, etc. smell?

AM I WHAT?

Who knew you had to know what scent you are before being able to pick what you thought would be an easy choice.

From there, was the on set of making ones head hurt not just from the smells but from all the choices.  She would grab one, spray the little paper and then hand it to me to smell.  Paper after paper, responses ranging from...
                       oh no,
                         way to old lady,
                           to strong,
                             to fruity,
                               to soft,
                                 to floral...

Hello, I had no idea that there were over 100 different perfumes.  Here I thought I would walk in, there would be like maybe 30 to test, grab the one I knew would be "the one" and be on my way.  Boy was I wrong!

I know this is kind of a silly topic.  I mean perfume, a wonderful scent that you hope to leave and make an impressions as you pass.  I love when someone walks by or has left the room and you can still smell them.  Well, I guess there are those times when we wish we hadn't smelt them...either to strong, not our taste, etc.

Kind of makes you think...what scent are you?  When you leave a room or when you are in the company of others what scent/impression are you leaving?  Hopefully one of LIFE and LOVE.  Maybe even one that makes those around you want to know what it is and where they can get it.

"For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.  To the one we are the smell of death, to the other , the fragrance of life."

Has Anyone Seen My Socks?

Everyone sing with me...

Oh where, are my socks?
 Oh where, are my socks?
Oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where, oh where.....
are my socks!

Does anyone else find it really odd how the dryer seems to eat socks?

Seriously, I have a bag hanging in my closet that contains socks that no longer have a match.

I know what you are thinking, maybe you matched them wrong, maybe you got rid of one because of a hole.

No, there are socks in this bag that there is no mistake on it's match.  We are talking bright, colorful, printed socks, that have one missing.  And yes all the laundry is caught up and rooms are fully clean so they aren't hiding there.

How does this happen?  I have looked in, under, behind, and even in the lint compartment of the dryer and they are not there.  This mystery seems to baffle me.

If someone knows the secret to this please do share.  Until then I will continue to be baffled that my paired sock supply is dwindling and that my bag of single socks seems to be increasing with no end in sight.
